Aircraft Transporting US Defense Secretary Required to Touch Down in UK Due to Fracture in Windshield
An aircraft carrying Pete Hegseth was required to make an unplanned landing in the Britain on Wednesday following a fracture was identified in the jet's front window, according to an official announcement which confirmed that all passengers were secure.
"The aircraft touched down in accordance with standard procedures and all individuals on the flight, including Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a press officer stated in a public statement.
He was traveling back from a brief trip to the city of Brussels at the time.
This occurrence does not mark the first time that a American defense plane carrying a high-ranking official has suffered equipment failures.
Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane carrying Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was forced to head back to Washington DC after encountering a mechanical fault.
