Chiefs State They Are Aware of Domestic Violence Allegations Involving Wide Receiver the Athlete
The NFL franchise released a comment Wednesday night confirming they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations made public in social media posts by a ex-partner of wide receiver the athlete and had been in communication with the NFL.
The team omitted the name of the player by name in their statement and said they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention the athlete directly, shared a series of photos on Instagram that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. She did say the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has two children with Rice, whom the team selected in the 2023 draft.
Official Complaints Currently Not on File
No official complaints were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have occurred.
Rice's Recent Off-Field Troubles
Rice missed the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an league-mandated ban for his role in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that resulted in multiple people hurt. Rice was given a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to felony charges.
Statistically, Rice finished the season with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Chiefs went with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a decade.
