Two Charged Over Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Assault
Two men have been charged in connection with a luggage theft where a suspected pepper spray resulted in harm at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and charges for deploying a toxic agent, authorities have stated.
This legal action stems from an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, police said.
A young child was among those injured in the event. Several persons went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
The incident – described by police as was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – led to disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
